Annually, Calgary’s Mayor Nenshi hosts a special Luncheon, where the city celebrates the transformative power of the arts and announces the winners of the Cultural Leaders Legacy Artist Awards to six deserving artists or arts organizations for their contributions to the Calgary Arts Community.
We are proud and excited to announce that our own Sandi Somers, the Director of ICE BLUE, was the recipient of the Doug & Lois Mitchell Outstanding Calgary Artist Award on May 18th, 2018.

Sandi was nominated by the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society (AMAAS) for her contributions to the Calgary arts community as an artist but also as a passionate, award-winning filmmaker and mentor, working towards advancing women and LGBTQ in media arts in Calgary and Alberta.
Congratulations Sandi! An amazing and fitting honour for someone who has given back to her community for so long and continues to do so.
